The funeral service for Janie Mobley Nix Cannon Cliett, 85, of Bainbridge, Ga., will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, at Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. Carl G. Garnett officiating.
Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Bill Bishop, Robby Rowe, Shane Cannon, Tim Pierce and Marty Mobley serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, at Ivey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cliett was born March 8, 1926, in Grady County, Ga., the daughter of William Asa Mobley and Piney Mae Knight Mobley. She died Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, Fla.
She was a wonderful Christian woman, mother and known affectionately as “Mamaw” to her 19 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cliett worked diligently as a homemaker and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jimmy Nix and William Cannon; and her son, Lamar Cannon.
Survivors include her sons, Jimmy Nix and his companion, Alicia Martin, Wayne Cannon and his wife, Wanda, and Ricky Cannon and his wife, Pat, all of Bainbridge; her daughters, Sherry Cannon and her companion, Bryan Reynolds, of Albany, Ga., and Charlene Bishop and her husband, Billy, of St. Marks, Fla.; her nine grandchildren and her 10 great-grandchildren.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
