The funeral service for Charles G. Bush, 72, of Bainbridge, Ga., will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Matthews officiating.

Interment will be at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery near Brinson, Ga.

Mr. Bush was born Dec. 3, 1938, in Columbus, Ga., the son of J. Felix Bush and Tiney May Bush. He died Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Memorial Hospital.

He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, served in the Georgia National Guard, and was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a retired insurance sales representative with Liberty National Life Insurance Company and worked 13 years at Shaw Industries and the last five years at Wal-Mart. He was preceded in death by his brother, J. Felix Bush Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice “Bea” Aldridge Bush of Bainbridge; his daughter, Amy Barber and her husband, Michael, of Brinson; his son, John Wheeler of Bainbridge; his sister-in-law, Ruth Bush of Bainbridge; his nephews, Craig Bush, Steve Bush, Tim Bush and Brian Bush; and a special family friend, Larry Bates of Bainbridge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Flint River Hospice, 402 N. West St., Bainbridge, GA 39817.
