The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with 60 participants traveling by bus from First Baptist Church to BHS with an escort by law enforcement officials. Local dignitaries will be present, with the Bainbridge Mayor Edward Reynolds having the honor of carrying the torch in the traditional opening ceremony.

Ken Bailey has added several new competitive activities for this year’s event.

Lunch will be provided by Pepi Food Service for all participants/volunteers and will be available for purchase by spectators.

If anyone in the community would like to volunteer this year, he or she should contact Catherine Vanstone at 248-2665, Ext. 115, Southwest Georgia Regional Library. All volunteers must complete an application and agree to a personal background check before approval.

All supporters and spectators are welcome to join us on this special day and cheer on the participants as they compete.
