The funeral service for Lucy Elaine Heard, 73, of Bainbridge, was held on Monday, April 11, 2011 at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Matthews and Rev. Tommy Willis officiating. Interment followed at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Rodney Heard, Trent Heard, Dale Heard, Jace Heard, Russell Heard, and B.J. Johns serving as active pallbearers.

Born March 9, 1938 in Colquitt, Ga., Mrs. heard passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 at her residence.

Mrs. Heard was the daughter of Emory Sessions Tully and Lucy Edna Corley Tully. She was a graduate of Miller County High School, Class of 1956, and was retired from First Choice Medical Services, where she served as a nursing assistant. Mrs. Heard was an active member of Bethany Baptist Church, where she was also a member of the choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie K. Heard; her brother, Robert E. Tully; and her daughter, Debbie Ann Heard.

She is survived by her son, Terry K. Heard and his wife, Carol, of Bainbridge; two daughters, Teresa White, and Cathy Holt and her husband, Henry L. “Hank” Jr., all of Bainbridge; five grandchildren, Katie Heard, Hannah Ray Holt, Henry L. Holt III, Ali White, and Blaine White, all of Bainbridge; and her sister-in-law, Jean Tully of Colquitt.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangments.
