A memorial service for Gene Autry Neely, 72, of Donalsonville, Ga., will be announced by Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.

Mr. Neely was born in Freemont, Ind., on March 13, 1939, to the late Joseph and Blanche Howard Neely. He died Tuesday morning, March 29, 2011, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala.

He worked with BP for many years as a heavy equipment engineer, and he was also a member of Union Local 18 operating engineer of Oltio.

He is survived by his wife, Pam Neely; his sons, Bill Neely, David Neely and Gene Michael Neely, all of Angola, Ind., and Jack Neely of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a daughter, Dawn Michele of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sisters, Carol Foster of Freemont, Ind., and Dora Blue of Elkhart, Ind.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
