Funeral services for Randall Lynn Polk, 57, of Whigham, Ga., will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 11, in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Owens and Mr. Will Tomlinson officiating.

Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Whigham, Ga., with Durwood Sellars, Weyman Salter, Eddie Thomas, Trent Stewart, Wallace Polk Jr. and Ray Whigham erving as pallbearers.

Mr. Polk was born Jan. 7, 1954, in Whigham. He died on Monday, March 7, 2011, at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, Ga.

Mr. Polk was a retired environmental chemist with BASF. He was a hard-working man who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed his John Deere tractor and took pride in his gardening. His greatest love was his family and his grandchildren.

Mr. Polk was preceded in death by his parents, Corbie and Lucille Polk; brothers, Roscoe Polk, Carroll Polk and Larry Polk; and sisters, Betty Polk Angle and Dorothy Nail Polk.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Diane Collins Polk of Whigham; a son, Christopher Allen Polk Sr. of Ochlocknee, Ga.; a daughter, Torie Polk Freeman of Nashville, Ga.; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Wallace Polk and Gerald Polk, both of Cairo, and Corbie Polk of San Diego, Calif.; a sister Emily Eubanks of Albany, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Clark Funeral Home in Cairo, which is in charge of the arrangements.
