Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Lee Murphy, 72, of Midway, Fla., were held Saturday, March 5, at Smith Grove Baptist Church in Attapulgus with Minister Stefon McBride officiating.

Interment followed in the church cemetery with friends of the family acting as pallbearers

Mrs. Murphy was born Nov. 28, 1938, in Cairo, Ga., and died Feb. 28, 2011, at her residence. She was a member of Springfield AME Church in Moticello, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Murphy.

Survivors include a son, Charlie Murphy; daughters, Isabelle Parrish, Lisa Andrews, Sharon Murphy, Vivian Miller, Beatrice Lewis and Amanda Akins; 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
