Services for James Richard Sullivan Sr., 71, of Mexico Beach, Fla., are Sunday, March 6, at 2 p.m. at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Fathers Chuck Bennett and James Hobby officiating.

Interment will be in Oakhill Cemetery in Bainbridge at 4 p.m..

Mr. Sullivan was born July 22, 1939, in Thomasville, Ga., and died March 3, 2011, at Plantation Manor. He was the son of the late Kermit Sullivan and Belle Carroll Sullivan.

Mr. Sullivan graduated from Georgia State University in 1963 with a bachelor’s degree, was a real estate developer and entrepreneur, and was a member of Trinity Anglican Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lina Ellis Sullivan; sons, James Richard Sullivan Jr., and his wife, Ileane, of Garden City, N.Y., William Joseph Sullivan and his wife, Christine, of Woodstock, Ga., and Wesley Mandeville Sullivan and his wife, Wendy, of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, James R. Sullivan III, Ann Catherine Sullivan, Christian Ellington Sullivan, all of Garden City, N.Y., Reed Mandeville Sullivan and Lauren June Sullivan, both of Nashville; sisters, Carolyn Sullivan Spears of Nashville, and Patricia and Ronnie Starling of Climax, Ga.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2 p.m., before the service at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
