The funeral service for Sibyl Farnan Rich, 70, of Bainbridge, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Medley officiating.

Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Ivey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rich was born April 10, 1940, in Bainbridge, the daughter of Pierce Charles Farnan and Pauline Karl Floyd Farnan. She died Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Memorial Hospital.

She graduated from Bainbridge High School, Class of 1958. Mrs. Rich was a retired human resource clerk for the Decatur County Board of Education, a member of First Baptist Church, and also a member of the Mary Martha Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, H. Palmer Rich of Bainbridge; her daughter, Karen R. Ragan and her husband, Rick, of Bainbridge; her son, Chuck Rich and his wife, Jennie, of Thomasville, Ga.; and her grandchildren, Katie Ragan, Rich Ragan, Anna Rich and Morgan Rich.
