The funeral service for George McCook, 67, of Bainbridge, Ga., will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Stapleton and the Rev. Bob Knight officiating.

Interment will be at Oak City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the chapel.

Mr. McCook was born Aug. 19, 1943, in Bainbridge, Ga., the son of Edward George McCook and Lillian James McCook. He died Feb. 17, 2011, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.

He was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School, Class of 1961, and served in the Georgia National Guard. He was a retired electric motor winder having worked for P&B Electric and Flint River Electric.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter; his brother, Wayne McCook, and his sister, Theresa Childree.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Rebecca C. McCook of Bainbridge; his son, Shannon McCook of Bainbridge; his brother, Jimmy McCook of Bainbridge; his sister-in-law, Joyce McCook; his brother-in-law, Jimmy Childree; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
