Services for Jerry Eugene Grimsley, 66 of Bainbridge, Ga., were held Saturday, Jan. 22, at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church in Bainbridge with the Rev. John Neal officiating.

Interment followed at Jonas Lobe Cemetery with friends of the family acting as pallbearers.

Mr. Grimsley was born Aug. 20, 1944, in Colquitt, Ga., and died Jan. 15, 2011, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.

He was a graduate of Bethel High School in Colquitt and worked for Chattahoochee, Southwestern and Bainbridge State hospitals as a health service technician until he became disabled. He was a member of Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church and was a faithful usher.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Freddie McMillan, Jerry McMillan and Robert McMillan; and by his parents, J.C. and Virginia Jackson Grimsley.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Carolyn Scott Grimsley of Bainbridge; six children, Phyllis Travis, Kenneth Grimsley Sr., Carol Register, Jacquelyn Green, all of Bainbridge, Dewayne Grimsley Sr. and April Robinson, both of Thomasville; nine brothers, Leon Grimsley Sr. of Bainbridge, Jimmy Grimsley and Leroy Grimsley, both of Orlando, Fla., Roy McMillan and Wilbur McMillan Sr., both of Bainbridge, Clarence McMillan and John McMillan, both of Mount Pleasant, Fla., Hershel McMillan of Gretna, Fla., and Elarge McMillan of Fort Pierce, Fla.; five sisters, Myra F. Mackey of Bainbridge, Patricia Langford of Cairo, Juanita Mims of Moreno Valley, Calif., Adel Gray of Fort Myers, Fla., and Enzie Richardson of Orlando; 17 grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
