Funeral services for Betty Jo Cannon Adams, 78, of Jakin, Ga., were held Monday, Jan. 17, in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Calvin Arnold officiating.

Burial followed in the Bethel Cemetery in Jakin with Jake Cannon, Gaston Cannon Jr., Kent Adams, Jimmy Davis, Ronnie Ingram and Alan Ingram acting as pallbearers.

Mrs. Adams was born in Jakin on April 12, 1932, and died Jan. 14, 2011, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur V. and Arrie Hilson Cannon; her husband, Royle Reginald Adams; her brothers, Herman Cannon, Alfonso Cannon and Gaston Cannon, and a sister, Josephine Burn.

She is survived by one son, Michael L. Adams of Donalsonville, Ga.; one daughter, Cynthia Ingram of Dothan; two grandsons, Kyle Adams and Brandon Adams, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
