Lady Packers edge Lady Cats 43-41

The visiting Colquitt County High School Lady Packers edged the Bainbridge High School Lady Cats 43-41 Friday night in a game that was close throughout.
They went ahead to stay at 41-39 when Bria Wallace hit two free throws with 1:06 remaining in the game.
Manda Trim made it 43-39 with a layup off the right glass at the 31-second mark. April Thomas hit two technical foul free throws with 7.2 seconds remaining to conclude the Lady Cats scoring.
The Lady Cats, who are 8-5 for the season, took an early 2-0 lead when Bria Harris grabbed a rebound and put it back in at the 6:40 mark of the first quarter.
The Lady Packers Sarah Strong tied it up 2-2 with a rebound and layup off the left glass at the 6:20 mark.

First, Jasmine Kelly hit a close in jumper at the 6:02 mark, Thomas then hit a driving layup off the right glass at the 5:16 mark, and then Briana Wade hit a driving hook shot from the right side at the 1:35 mark.
Thomas’ long three-point jumper from the left side with 3:24 showing on the first quarter clock made it 11-4.
The Lady Packers scored the last four points of the quarter on a jumper from the left side by Kwanteva Love at the 3:05 mark and a driving layup by Wallace at the 3-minute mark to cut the Lady Cats’ lead to three, at 11-8, entering the second quarter.
The Lady Cats built their lead to five, at 19-14, when Wade hit a layup off the right glass with 2:30 remaining until halftime. They were up by just one, 20-19, at the half.
Sarah Story hit a free throw just 21 seconds into the third quarter to pull the Lady Packers even 20-20. They led 32-30 entering the fourth quarter.
Thomas and Wade combined for 25 points to lead the Lady Cats’ attack. Wade led the way with 13 and Thomas put in 12. Kensi Thompson and Danyelle Ridley scored 10 points apiece to lead the Lady Packers.
