Lucy O’Hearn Robinson

Funeral services for Lucy Laura O’Hearn Robinson, 80, of Cairo, Ga., will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with the Revs. Gerald Horne and Herman Enfinger officiating.
Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, Ga. Casketbearers will be her grandsons, Chris Robinson, Roy Robinson Jr., Dewaine Robinson, Robert Wayne Robinson, Williams Bryant Robinson, Jacob Lawler, Kent Lewis Robinson and Eldridge Mack Robinson Jr.,
Mrs. Robinson was born in Miller County, Ga., on Nov. 7, 1930, and died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at her residence. She was a member of Unity Church of God; worked in sales at Dickies, Ross Clothing store and also at Green Top and Midtown Motels, in addition to being a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Lucille Stephens O’Hearn; brothers, Broughton O’Hearn and Ralph O’Hearn; a sister, Eunice Albritton; two sons, Mack Eldridge Robinson and Dewaine “Bill” Robinson.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Merrell Robinson of Cairo; two sons, Johnny Merrell Robinson Jr. of Donalsonville and Roy Gregory Robinson Jr. of Cairo; three brothers, Bill O’Hearn of Donalsonville, Cliff O’Hearn of Jakin, Ga., and Gene Autrey O’Hearn of Colquitt, Ga.; two sisters, Delores Broxton and Dorothy Givens, both of Donalsonville; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lucy Thomas, P.O. Box 616, Donalsonville, GA 39845.
