College students who want to work in financial services but prefer the small-town life can get a taste of both with a paid internship at Southwest Georgia Farm Credit.
The Bainbridge-based association is an agricultural lender with $300 million in loans outstanding. The deadline to apply for internships is March 14.
The internship is ideal for students interested in financial services, credit analysis, risk management, venture capital, agricultural futures, marketing, appraisals, accounting and related topics.
Interns will meet with the CEO to learn about the company, its mission, customer base and strategy. They will sit in on leadership meetings and be assigned a mentor. They will also receive training through AgFirst Farm Credit Bank and be given challenging work assignments.
To be eligible, you must be a full-time graduate or undergraduate student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. You must be available to work at least 20 hours per week. And you must have reliable transportation.
Send a resume and cover letter, including your GPA, to: Cindy Strickland, Southwest Georgia Farm Credit, 305 Colquitt Hwy., Bainbridge, GA 39817. She can be reached at (866) 304-3276.
