Bainbridge woman killed in Mitchell County crash

Nineteen-year-old Jasmine Nichole Wade of Bainbridge was killed in a car crash in Mitchell County on Sunday evening, according to WALB-TV.
The accident happened shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday on Georgia Highway 112 near its intersection with Greenough Road, about ten miles northeast of Camilla, Ga., WALB reported.
Wade, who was driving a pickup truck north on Highway 112, steered off the roadway and the truck struck a tree. Wade’s passenger, 19-year-old Quarmeisha Loman of Bainbridge, was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga.
Wade was a member of the Bainbridge High School Class of 2009 and was taking classes at Bainbridge College with the goal of becoming a medical assistant, according to her Facebook page.
Man seriously injured in stabbing
A Decatur County man was seriously injured after being stabbed by his wife on Monday night.
At 11:17 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call at 109 Willis Lane, located off Georgia 309 South between Fowlstown and Attapulgus.
Deputies were met at the back door of the house by Mabie Mack, 53, who stated she stabbed her husband, 57-year-old Rudell Mack. Deputy Steve Black observed that Mr. Mack had a knife wound just below his right breast. Mr. Mack was treated at the scene by Decatur County EMS and was later taken by emergency medical helicopter to a Tallahassee, Fla., hospital.
Mr. Mack is being treated in an intensive care unit and was in guarded condition as of Tuesday, Sheriff’s Investigator Brian Donalson said. Mrs. Mack was arrested Monday night and charged with aggravated assault.
