Angles in Bainbridge

This is a letter of thanks and gratitude. I wrote a letter in December venting my frustration at the high cost of air fare and how it was going to be impossible to get our son home for the holidays.

Well, a few weeks ago I received a phone call from someone telling me that she was bringing our son home for Christmas.

After I finally quit crying, she was able to tell me what was in her heart. You see, her son is in the military too, and she knew what it was like to miss a child during the holidays. I was touched by her kindness and will forever hold it dear to my heart.

I also want her to know that although we had planned to make time for Matt to visit her, we “selfishly” kept him to ourselves. I know she will understand. Any parent would in this situation.

Thank you seems a simple phrase to use, but it is all I have to give to her right now.

I also want to thank those that called us wanting to do the same for us. I want you all to know that you have the true spirit of the season and have blessed a family with your love and generosity.

My promise to you is that I will make sure that I will do this kindness everyday of my life. If I can touch other’s lives the way you touched ours, I will be blessed even more.

There are angels dwelling in Bainbridge, and I have talked to them!

May God bless you.
