The Corps wants your Christmas trees

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers would like to have your live-cut Christmas trees.

The trees will be recycled to refurbish fish attractors located on Lake Seminole. Fish attractors concentrate fish by providing cover, structure, spawning habitat and an attachment surface for many fish food organisms.

The Corps began this project last year, which turned out to be a huge success.

Following the Christmas holidays, there will be four locations for you to drop off your live cut Christmas trees.

• Sneads Park

• Chattahoochee City Sports Complex

• Spring Creek Park

• Hales Landing Park

Please be aware of signs to make sure trees are placed in designated locations within the recreation areas.

Before you drop your trees off, please remove all decorative items and materials from the trees. The Corps plans to begin installing the fish attractors after the holidays.

The last day to drop your trees off will be Jan 7. If there are any volunteers who would like to assist with the fish attractors, please contact the Lake Seminole Office at (229) 662-2001.
