A big “thank you” to our Cypress Circle Post-Searchlight deliverer, Peggy Fordham, who when she was delivering papers at 1:40 a.m. Wednesday morning, frantically rang my door bell until I awoke and answered.

She pointed three doors down my street to a house that was completely engulfed in fire, and said she had called 911. She was concerned that someone was in the house. I assured her no one was at this time.

Our Recovery fire responders were on the scene in a few minutes, plus several others soon thereafter. All on our street were asleep, This fire was creeping over the ground toward other yards by the time water was applied and three trees were on fire 50 feet up.

Thank you for being there, and the only one awake at that time in our area. This could have been so much worse for adjoining neighbors.
