Bainbridge High School Principal Tommie Howell has announced the launching of the Bearcat Heritage Project.
He says the mission of the project is to preserve and promote the history and traditions of Bainbridge High School.
“There are four components of the project,” Howell said. “The first is the establishment of the Bearcat Wall of Honor, and the second is the development of an historical archive and displays of memorabilia of BHS and past Decatur County public high schools.”
Howell says the final two project components are the development of a dedicated Bearcat Heritage Web site and the development of displays of BHS athletic accomplishments.
“One of the key goals of the Bearcat Heritage Project is the collection of memorabilia from Bainbridge High School and the high schools that merged to form the present BHS,” Howell said.
“An historical archive is being established, and memorabilia will be exhibited in the display cases throughout the school,” Howell said. “Donations of old yearbooks, newspapers and other publications would be greatly appreciated.”
