Ronnie L. Bishop

A graveside funeral service for Ronnie Lamar Bishop, 61, of Climax, Ga., will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, at Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Elder Thad Marshall and the Rev. Stanley Phillips officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Mr. Bishop was born Aug. 31, 1949, in Cairo, Ga., the son of Jesse Leonard Bishop and Sarah Montine Owens Bishop. He died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, at his residence.

He was a graduate of Cairo High School, Class of 1967, was a farmer, and was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the Climax City Council. Mr. Bishop played football and baseball in high school, and was an avid Florida State University football and baseball fan.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Brenda Logue Bishop of Climax; his son, Bo Hyatt and his fiancé, Leigh Anne VanHousen, of Bainbridge; his daughter, Mikki Lambert and her husband, Jay, of Bainbridge; his brother, Wallace Bishop of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Garrett Lambert, Tate Lambert, Conner Hyatt, Alexie Manning, Spencer VanHousen and Preston VanHousen; and his nieces and nephews, Richard Bishop, Monica Bishop Wilson, Braxton Harrell and Bailee Harrell.
