Funeral services for Roy Odom Sr., 81 of Donalsonville, Ga., were held on Friday, Nov. 19, in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Taylor officiating.

Interment followed in the Salem-Seminole Baptist Church Cemetery in Donalsonville with Masonic Rites. Casketbearers were members of the Seminole Masonic Lodge No. 83, Bobby Black, Steve Bailey, Stan Kennedy, Marlon James, Neal Spooner and Grover Kelley.

Mr. Odom was born in Decatur County, Ga., on March 20, 1929, and died Nov. 15, 2010, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala. He retired as a master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Lugene Atkinson Odom, and his siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Mathilde Odom of Donalsonville; one son, Roy Odom of Ohau, Hawaii; two daughters, Sarah Hemphill of Las Vegas, Nev., and Jonnie Temples of Donalsonville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
