Herschel “Snake” Bailey

The memorial service for Herschel Thomas “Snake” Bailey, 69, of Bainbridge, Ga., was held on Sunday, Nov. 14, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Medley officiating.
Mr. Bailey was born April 4, 1941, in Cedartown, Ga., and died Nov. 12, 2010, at his residence.
He served in the U. S. Marine Corps, was a steel worker and crane operator for DeKalb Steel for more than 40 years, and was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Thelman Bailey and Essie Dee Partain Bailey; brothers, Clifford Bailey and Sammy Bailey; and his sister, Betty B. Floyd.
Survivors include his sons, Kevin Bailey of Tifton, Ga., and Bryan Bailey of Atlanta, Ga.; his daughter, Jennifer Bailey of Houston, Texas; his “adopted son,” Bob Stott of Bainbridge, Ga.; his brother, Edward Bailey of Atlanta; his three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Andy and Molli; and several nieces and nephews.
Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
