Eugenia Baughman

Services for Eugenia Reed Baughman, 67, of Atlanta, Ga., were held Saturday, Nov. 6, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur, Ga.
Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Baughman was born Dec. 29, 1942, in Cedar Springs, Ga., and died Nov. 2, 2010.
She was the youngest of four children. After graduation from Jakin High School, she attended Georgia State Women’s College and the University of Georgia, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in home economics education. She taught home economics in Moultrie and Griffin high schools.
In 1948, she married Leon Edward Baughman and settled in the Emory area of Atlanta, where they remained happily married for 50 years.
She and her husband were active members of Druid Hills United Methodist Church through 1963, when they moved their membership to Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She sang in the chancel choir, was an active member of the kitchen committee, served as a Sunday School teacher, chaired the senior adult council and home bound program, and was a dedicated member of the Mariners Sunday School class.
She loved music and from age 11 often played piano for church in Cedar Springs. She loved reading, cooking, spending time with family and friends, baseball, volunteering with Meals on Wheels, and staying involved with her four grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Bill Widmayer; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Susan Baughman; four grandchildren, Beth, Paul, Michael and Patrick; and nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 1722 Oak Grove Road, Decatur, GA 30033.
A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home of Decatur, Ga., was in charge of the arrangements.
