Georgia 262 detour announced

The Georgia Department of Transportation announces the temporary closure of State Road 262 in Decatur County beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 8, and continuing through 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9. This road closure will be utilized to allow for the repair of the roadway over at milepost 21.5. The detour routes will be marked as follows: Motorists traveling south on SR 262 will be detoured south (left) on State Road 309 to State Road 97; then turn left (south) on Whigham Dairy Road; then turn east (left) on U.S. 84/S.R. 38; then travel back to intersection of S.R. 262 and U.S. 84/S.R. 38. Motorist traveling north on S.R. 262 will be detoured west (left) on U.S. 84/S.R. 38; then turn north (right) on Whigham Dairy Road; then turn north (right) on S.R. 97 to S.R. 309 North; then travel back to S.R. 262.
