A new venture called Holiday Extravaganza is planned for Friday, Nov. 5, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at St. John’s social hall, 516 E. Broughton St. The doors open at 5:30. Chairperson of the organization committee, Johnette Weiss, said the event is intended to be a prelude to holiday festivities and shopping. It will be an opportunity for women with home-based businesses to showcase their products and generate revenue for their families. There will be demonstrations, party hosting opportunities, refreshments and door prizes.
