Center is well done

On Tuesday, go to the ribbon-cutting ceremony at Bainbridge College’s Student Wellness Center.
Go see not only how nice the $20 million building is and how it will greatly enhance the life of its students, but also see how it will be one more building in Decatur County that serves as a model on how to do something right.
The Student Wellness Center was completed on time, within budget and without one change order—not one. That’s almost unheard of.
A common denominator perhaps in how the college’s Student Wellness Center and Bainbridge High School are serving as models in huge public projects coming within budget, within the contractual time frame and without bitter battles could be Allstate Construction of Tallahassee, Fla.
The company, which successfully “fixed” the Kirbo Regional Center, has served Decatur Countians well, as have all the other principals in the construction of the new high school and the Wellness Center.
The college is devising a way for the public to use the building, even though its construction is paid through student fees.
Whatever the final plan for its use, the Student Wellness Center is a nice piece of work—from beginning to end.
