Services for Martha Paulette Vowell, 61, of Cairo, were held Sunday, Oct. 17, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Blough officiating.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Copeland Bridge Cemetery in Collinsville, Ala.

Mrs. Vowell was born in Crossville, Ala., on May 28, 1949, and died Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at her residence in Cairo. She was employed as a case worker with the Grady County Department of Family and Children Services. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Paul Jones.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn Vowell of Cairo; son, Sean Vowell of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Lara Vowell of Thomasville, Ga.; one grandchild, Connor Mathis of Thomasville; her mother, Nettie Smith Jones of Crossville, Ala.; a sister, Judy Harper of Grove Oak, Ala.; a brother, Johnny Jones of Crossville, Ala.; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and friends of the bowling community.

Clark Funeral Home in Cairo was in charge of the arrangements.
