A memorial service will be held at a later date for William Maurice Wessinger, 45, of Columbia, Ala.

Born on Dec. 27, 1964, Mr. Wessinger died Oct. 8, 2010, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala.

Mr. Wessinger worked as a chef.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh William Wessinger; and a sister, Ellen Varnum.

Survivors include his mother, Pat Dawson Wessinger Ferguson of Columbia, Ala.; three sons, William, Kevin and Adam, along with Adam’s mother, Shirley, and a stepson, Justin; one daughter, Terri; one brother, Kenneth; one sister, Kathy; a special friend, Judy, and three grandchildren.
