Marion Alonzo Mobley

Memorial services for Marion “Mack” Mobley, 81, of Bainbridge, were held on Thursday, Oct. 14, at First Baptist Church of Bainbridge with the Revs. Paul Medley and Joseph Beauchamp officiating.
Mr. Mobley was born Nov. 12, 1927, in Thomson, Ga. He died Oct. 11, 2010, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville.
He was a minister of the gospel, a member of First Baptist Church of Bainbridge, served on the Southern Baptist Foreign Board for 21 years and was of the Bowen Baptist Association. He was director of missions from 1980 to 1994, and directed a worldwide Internet prayer ministry reaching into 75 nations.
He served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force from 1946 to 1950. He lived in this area for 31 years, after moving from Nishinomiya, Japan. He was a member of the Bainbridge Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanton Alonzo and Lola Irene Kitchens Mobley.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn H. Mobley of Bainbridge; three sons, Ronald Glenn Mobley of Dallas, Texas, Wendell Scott Mobley of Moorepark, Calif., and Carey Neil Mobley of New York City, N.Y.; one sister, Carolyn Washington of Jackson, Ga.; and five grandchildren.
Cox-Ware Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
