Job fair set for Oct. 20 in Bainbridge

The Georgia Department of Labor’s Bainbridge Career Center, the Southwest Georgia Employer Committee and Bainbridge College Technical Studies Division will sponsor a career and resource fair for employers, veterans and others wanting to learn about various careers and resources.
The event will be held Wednesday, Oct. 20, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Charles H. Kirbo Regional Center on the Bainbridge College campus, located at 2500 E. Shotwell St.
Employer committees are groups of local business representatives who establish and maintain working relationships between employers and Georgia Department of Labor Career Centers.
Representatives of Bainbridge College will be on-hand to discuss career and training opportunities, while veterans’ representatives will be available to assist veterans with individual job-search needs and career assistance.
The career and resource fair will feature a number of employers, educational institutions and resource agencies that provide assistance to job-seekers.
Some employers will be hiring while others will be discussing possible future employment opportunities.
Applicants should bring multiple copies of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available jobs.
Among employers, educational institutions and resource agencies expected to participate in the career and resource fair are Bainbridge-Decatur County YMCA, Decatur County Sheriff’s Department, Georgia Industries for the Blind, Home Depot, Hospice of Southwest Georgia, Labor Finders, Shaw Industries, Spring Creek Health Cooperative, Southwest Georgia Workforce Investment Board (WIB), Turner Job Corps, Wiregrass Hospice and Woodmen of the World.
