Funeral services for Jan Johnson Hatcher, 53, of Donalsonville, will be held Saturday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. at Spring Creek Baptist Church in Donalsonville with the Revs. Jimmy Dean and Charles Barineau officiating.
Interment will follow in the church’s cemetery with Terry Batchelor, Trent Harrison, Jimmy Rogers, Jimmy Anderson, Carlton E. “Buddy” Earnest Jr. and Gerald Cainon acting as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Seminole County Sheriff’s Department, Donalsonville Fire Department, Seminole County EMS, Georgia State Patrol, C.J. Hodge and Frank Manley.
Mrs. Hatcher was born in Seminole County on Jan. 20, 1957, and died Oct. 6, 2010, at her residence. She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church and worked as an EMT and with the Seminole County Health Department. She received the Melvin Jones Fello Award and was a member of the Lake Seminole Lions Club where she served as president. She was also Lion of the Year on two occasions.
She was preceded in death by her father, Heyward Johnson, and her husband, William Robert Hatcher.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Eubanks Johnson of Donalsonville; a stepson William Robbie “Doobie” Hatcher of Donalsonville; a step-daughter-in-law, Tabitha Hatcher of Colquitt; two step-grandchildren, several aunts, uncles and numerous cousins, along with her beloved pets, Jillie and Coco.
