Ada J. Blackburn

Funeral services for Ada Bell Johnson Blackburn, 90, of Bainbridge, were held on Monday, Oct. 4, at Donalsonville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron McCaskill officiating.
Interment followed in Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville with Craig Merrifield, Ryan Blackburn, Lil’ Rob Blackburn, Rusty Blackburn, Ricky Blackburn and Jarrod Pritchard serving as pallbearers. Honorary casketbearers were all other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Blackburn was born in Donalsonville on March 13, 1920, and died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at Bainbridge Healthcare. She was a member of Donalsonville First Baptist Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Blackburn enjoyed working in her yards, fishing, spending time with her family and taking care of others.
She is survived by three sons, Lamar Blackburn of Bascom, Fla., Larry Blackburn and Rob Blackburn, both of Donalsonville; two daughters, Linda Blackburn and Nina Pritchard, both of Donalsonville; two sisters, Bobbie Jo Perry of Donalsonville, and Onys Saunders of Lake City, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Ruth Lovett Johnson; her husband, William F. “Willie” Blackburn; three brothers, Roy Johnson, Milton Johnson and Randall “Buddy” Johnson; and four sisters, Earnestine Alday, Juanita Wilkes, Lucille Barber and Ruth “Bill” Earnest.
