Harriet Flowers Riffee

A memorial service for Harriet Flowers Riffee, 70, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Bainbridge, will be held at Saturday, Sept. 25 at 4 p.m. at Reynolds Chapel in First United Methodist Church with Randy Mosley officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Reynolds Chapel.
Born Jan. 22, 1940, in Bainbridge, Mrs. Riffee died on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Mrs. Riffee was the daughter of William Mason Flowers and Anne LeGette Flowers. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1958.
Mrs. Riffee married her husband, Virgil Lee Riffee, in 1959 after a whirlwind romance. They were a devoted and loving couple. She was a homemaker and a serious student of European history and fine antiques. In later years she and her husband built a lovely rose garden, which encompassed their entire property and through which they would stroll arm in arm each afternoon.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan Hoge and her husband, Jim, and Margaret Smith and her husband, Chris; her sister, Sarah “Sally” Wolfe and her husband, Beau; her grandchildren, Liz Hoge and her fiancĂ©, Jim Robinson, and John Hoge and his wife, Cassandra; and her aunt, Margaret LeGette Kirbo.
