Funeral services for Arthur Lee Akins, 58, of Bainbridge, will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, at 3 p.m. at the Disciples of Jesus Ministries in Bainbridge, with Irene Cason officiating. Interment will be at St. Paul Cemetery in Fowlstown with friends of the family acting as pallbearers.

Born June 29, 1952, in Decatur, Ga. Mr. Akins died Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Ga.

Survivors include his wife, Mable Akins; seven children, Brenda Perry, Mary Harris, Angela Perry, John Perry, Arthur Akins, Shawanda Howard, and Rena Thomas; six sisters, Sadie Fisher, Margarett Tillman of Kissimmee, Fla., Virgelene Young of Tallahassee, Fla., Lessie Perry of Attapulgus, Hattie Mae Jackson, Shirley Williams of Tampa; a brother, Leroy Akins; 23 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Bruton Mortuary is in charge of  arrangements.
