Eighth grade Bearcats shut out Rams

The Bainbridge Middle School eighth grade football team shut out the Worth County Middle School Rams from Sylvester 24-0 Thursday at Centennial Field.

With 2:15 remaining in the first quarter, T.J. Jones ran 34 yards for a touchdown and Henry Kelley ran in for the two-point conversion to put the Bearcats out front 8-0.

They increased their advantage to 16-0 when Jones ran 16 yards for a touchdown and Trey Miller ran in for the two-point conversion.

The final Bearcats touchdown of the first half and the day was scored by Tramaine McCrae, who ran three yards for a touchdown.

The score came with 1:28 left in the second quarter. Isaiah Brown ran left for the two-point conversion.

The eighth grade Bearcats, who are now 1-1 on the season, will return to action Thursday, Sept. 16.

They travel to Thomasville for a 5 p.m. game against the McIntyre Park Middle School eighth grade Bulldogs at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
