West Street Baptist Church—The church, located at 1511 West St., will have its homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m. There will be a covered dish lunch, special music and a speaker, Gary Heath. The Rev. Mike Phillips is the pastor.
Pine Forest Baptist Church—The church, located at 104 Pine Forest Road, will host the Lighthouse Girls during its Sunday, Sept. 12, 11 a.m. services.
First A.B. Church—The church, 115 Church Street in West Bainbridge, will celebrate Men and Women’s Day on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Peter Rogers as guest speaker.
First Morning Star M.B. Church—The church will celebrate Men and Women’s Day Sunday, Sept. 12 at 11 a.m. with guest minister the Rev. Harry Mitchell of Atlanta.
Climax United Methodist Church—The church will hold a revival beginning Sunday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. and running through Wed., Sept. 15 with 7 p.m. services throughout the week. Event speaker will be Henry Bass.
Travelers Rest M.B. Church—The church, at 661 Cal Thomas Rd., Whigham, will celebrate its 107th church anniversary with 7:30 p.m. services beginning Wed., Sept. 15, with Star Bethlehem M.B. Church Rev. Tehgue; Thurs. Sept. 16, Antioch M.B. Church, Rev. Cleveland Sanders; Friday, Sept. 17 with St. Paul M.B. Church, Rev. Tommy Garlin; and Sunday, at 2 p.m. with Grant Chapel Rev. Lenhart Johnston.
Mt. Moriah Church—The Mt. Moriah #2 Adult Choir and the Edmond Howard Mt. Moriah grandchildren choir will celebrate their anniversary Saturday, Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m.. All choirs and soloists are invited.
St. Mark Church—The St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its church and pastors anniversary Sept. 14-16. On Sunday, Sept. 19 there will be a church dinner in honor of the Rev. Dwight Reaves. The church is located at 311 East River Road in Bainbridge.
New Salem Freewill Church—The church located on Spring Creek Rd., will celebrate the anniversary of Minister Melba Andrews on Sunday, Sept. 19, at 11 a.m.
John the Baptist Church—The church, located at 1706 Faceville Highway, will observe the 119th church anniversary from Sept. 15 through Sept. 19, with 7 p.m. services on Wed. – Fri. and at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
First Baptist Church—The church, located at 401 E. Shotwell St., is hosting an International Mission Board training event on Sept. 16 and 17. The event is for those already engaged in mission work in West Africa and for those wishing to learn how to become engaged in overseas missions. For more information call 246-1563.
Mount Zuma M.B. Church—The church, located at 2015 Vada Hwy., will mark the church and pastor’s anniversaries on Sept. 15, 16 and 17 beginning at 7:30 p.m., and conclude on Sunday, Sept. 19, at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Evening guest speakers will be the Rev. Percy Leggett, the Rev. William Morris, the Rev. Johnny Brown, and Sunday speakers will be the Rev. Douglas Barber and Rev. Dr. A.L. Thompson.
First Baptist Church—The church, located at 401 E. Shotwell St., will begin its GAP Sunday School class on Sunday, Sept. 19. The class is for graduate and professional single adults. The meeting will be at the church’s educational building beginning at 9:45 a.m.
St. John A.M.E. Church—The church, located at 416 E. Broad St. in Climax, will celebrate the 144th church anniversary on Sunday Sept. 19, at 11 a.m. with minister Jimmie Addison as guest speaker.
Union Missionary Baptist Church—The church, located at 703 Martin St. in Bainbridge, will celebrate Men and Women’s Day on Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. with guest speaker Minister Corene Green giving the program.
Laymen Brotherhood Second Chance Outreach Center—The center, located at 205 Independent St., will celebrate its third anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 19, from 3 to 5 p.m. The center will give out food while supplies last.
John the Baptist Church—The church, at 1706 Faceville Highway, will hold pre-revival nightly prayer meetings from Sept. 26 – 28 at 7 p.m. Church pastor is Matthew Williams. The revival begins Sept. 29 and runs through Oct. 1 at 7 p.m., with the Rev. James Turner as guest speaker.
First African Baptist Church—The church, located at 115 Church St. in West Bainbridge, will mark its choir’s anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 6 p.m. The. Rev. J.C. Jackson is the pastor.
