What’s the garbage pick up schedule on a holiday week?

Where did all the money to build the new ball complex and boat ramps come from?

Who do you call when a tree has fallen across the road?

What holiday activities are planned for November and December?

This is the place to find out the answers to those questions and more!

City of Bainbridge offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 6, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Due to the holiday, the garbage collection schedule will be pushed back a day. Those residences that are regularly scheduled for Monday pick-up will have their garbage collected on Tuesday, Sept. 7, while those regularly scheduled for Tuesday will have theirs picked-up on Wednesday, Sept. 8.

City to host tennis tournament

Head to Willis Park this Saturday, Sept. 4, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon for the Downtown Market. Vendors will be on hand selling their locally made and grown products. You’ll find great things like soaps, plants, produce, jewelry and much more!

Bainbridge has been chosen to host the 2011 Georgia Junior Tennis Championships. This tournament will bring more than 200 kids and their families to Bainbridge from April 2-5, 2011. What an impact that will make here in town! We have such beautiful tennis facilities and it is great that we will be able to show them off in such a big way.

Don’t forget to submit your questions to Mayor Edward Reynolds for the monthly “Ask the Mayor” column. He will choose a question and answer it for The Post-Searchlight readers on the last Wednesday of the month.

You can e-mail your questions to askthemayor@bainbridgecity.com.

Please remember to check the city’s Web site, www.bainbridgecity.com, and on cable channel 17 for the most up-to-date information on happenings for the City of Bainbridge.
