Funeral services for Jessie Davis Keaton Sr., 86, of Bainbridge, will be held Saturday, Aug. 28, at Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church at 11 a.m., with Pastor Eric D. Collins officiating.
Interment will follow at Jonas Lobe Cemetery with the staff of Decatur County Corrections serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jessie Keaton Jr., Hurtis Lynn Keaton, Curtis Lynn Keaton, Michael J. Keaton and Billy Ward.
Mr. Keaton was born April 24, 1924, in Camilla and died Aug. 20, 2010, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Keaton was a taxi driver by occupation, a World War II veteran, and a member of Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member of the male choir and the usher board. He was also a member of NAACP and American Legion Post 502.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Osborne Keaton; sons Jessie Keaton Jr., Hurtis Lynn Keaton, Curtis Lynn Keaton, Michael Jerome Keaton and Billy Ward; daughters, Vivian Keaton Robinson, Cosandra Denneese, Janice Keaton Neal, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bruton Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
