Opal Robinson

Funeral services for Opal Lourene Townsend Robinson, 84, of Climax, were held Tuesday, Aug. 24, at Maranatha Baptist Church in Climax with the Rev. Scott Lord officiating.
Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery in Whigham with Emree Robinson, Richard Robinson, Wilbur Robinson, Gary Hill, Billy Moore and Heath Hutto serving as pallbearers.
Born Oct. 27, 1925, in Beverly, Ohio, Mrs. Robinson died at her residence on Aug. 21, 2010.
She moved to Decatur County in 1986 from Florida. She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church and the Senior Sunday School Class, which she loved. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing cards, reading and gardening. She also loved to travel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Hill Robinson; two sons, Gary Hill and Steve Hill; one sister, Rita Kaye Townsend; and one brother, Morris Townsend.
Survivors include one son, Frank Hill of Vero Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Dixie Hutto of Climax; three sisters, Bessie Olive Skinner of Beverly, Ohio, Goldie Brothers of McConnelsville, Ohio, and Jeanette Garvin of Rivera, Md.; one brother, Grover Junior Townsend of Caldwell, Ohio; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Cox-Ware Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
