Bainbridge police found a Hispanic man stabbed to death behind the Grocery Outlet on Scott Street early Saturday morning, Chief Investigator Frank Green said.
Public Safety officers found the body of Eugenio Loredo, of Bainbridge, on Fleming Street, one block to the west of Grocery Outlet.
Loredo, who has been living in Bainbridge for a couple of years, was a middle-aged man.
BPS investigators identified the suspect as a Hispanic male, Franscisco Juan Resendez, 48 years old. He is described as having a slender build and about five feet, seven inches in height. He has black hair and a goatee beard. He was last seen wearing a black or dark-colored tank top shirt, blue jeans and brown boots.
Resendez, who has the nickname of “Pancho,” may be in Gadsden County, Fla., or in the town of Gretna, Fla., a few miles northwest of Quincy.
A GBI Crime Scene Unit assisted Public Safety with the investigation in the early hours of Saturday.
Anyone with more information about the incidents that led to Loredo’s death can call Green at 515-0168 or Public Safety headquarters at 248-2038.
