Funeral services for Mildred Ann Rabon, 89, of Valdosta, Ga., formerly of Bainbridge, will be held Saturday, Aug. 21, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home in Valdosta with the Rev. Charlie Scarbrough officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Born in Bainbridge, Ga., on Feb. 17, 1921, Mrs. Rabon died on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010.
Mrs. Rabon was the daughter of the late Jasper and Lillian Glenn Godwin. She was also the widow of the late Fredrick Winston Rabon. Mrs. Rabon enjoyed family, music and travel. She was a charter member of the Golden Strummers and a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Mrs. Rabon taught school for many years and had retired from the Lowndes County (Ga.) School System.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Warren Johnson of Live Oak, Fla., Gayle and Ron Miller of Pembroke Pine, Fla., Debbie Beasley of Valdosta; her grandchildren, Stacy and Patrick Flanagan, Steven and Kara Miller, Lori and Jeff Broadaway, Thomas and Lacey Johnson and Daryn Beasley; eight great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Carson McLane Funeral Home in Valdosta is in charge of arrangements.
