Nancy Barineau

Funeral services for Nancy Jane Medlen Barineau, 56, of Tallahassee, Fla., and formerly of Quincy, Fla., will be held Thursday, Aug. 12 at 9 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery off 11th Street in Quincy.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Charles McClellan Funeral Home in Quincy.
Ms. Barineau was a first-grade teacher at West Bainbridge Elementary School. She taught in Decatur County for nine years. Prior to teaching here, she taught for 14 years in Quincy, Fla., where she was named the 2001 Teacher of the Year for George W. Monroe Elementary School, and was the 2000 Superintendent Award winner for high test scores.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Ross Barineau.
Survivors include her daughter, Meghan Baxley of Sneads, Fla., and her husband, Will; her sister, Mary Cox of Ohio; and two brothers, Richard Medlen of Kentucky and Wendell Medlen of Tennessee.

Charles McClellan Funeral Home in Quincy, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.
