Funeral services for Desmond Johnson, 7, of Colquitt, Ga., will be held Thursday, Aug. 12, at 2 p.m. at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Colquitt with the Rev. W.G. Thomas officiating.

Interment will follow in the church’s cemetery with friends of the family serving as active pallbearers.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 11, from 1 to 9 p.m. at Bruton Mortuary.

Born Nov. 20, 2002, in Tallahassee, Fla., Master Johnson died on Aug. 4, 2010, following a long illness.

Survivors include his mother, Sabrina Johnson; two sisters, Jaquala Tamyha Johnson and Katelyn Janya Johnson; four brothers, Jonatarius Burney, Jarris Burney, Nolan Burney and Dylan Burney; his grandmother, Ola Johnson; his great-grandmother, Essie Bridley; his Godmother, Andrea Hopson; his Godfathers, Steve Perkins and Pat Burr; five aunts and three uncles.

Bruton Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
