Eagle Trot raises money for shelter

Saturday’s Trey’s Eagle Trot 5,000-meter, 3.1-mile run raised $2,400 for the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society.
The trot was coordinated by Trey Walker of Boy Scout Troop 502 and sponsored by the Bainbridge Rotary Club. The event was the Eagle Scout project for Walker, was won by Kyle Harris of Bainbridge with a time of 18:32.
Taking second overall and top female honors was Kara Taylor of Tallahassee, Fla,. with a time of 19:16.
Greg Waddell of Bainbridge captured third place with a time of 19:20. Chase Harris of Bainbridge was fourth with a time of 19:26 and Matthew Rowan of Quincy, Fla., was fifth with a time of 20:57
Rounding out the top 10 were Cole Farrington of Bainbridge with a time of 21:22, Anthony Hall of Bainbridge with a time of 21:24, Bobby Holden of Whigham with a time of 21:46, Caleb Harris of Bainbridge with a time of 22:12 and Perra Harrell of Bainbridge with a time of 23:08.
Walker, son of Rhonda and Billy Walker and grandson of Monroe and Mary Ann Godwin, said he was pleased with the huge turnout for the run and a one mile fun run for elementary school students.
“We had over 130 runners registered for the 5,000-meter run and the fun run,” he said. “I want to thank my sponsors, the runners and the 30-plus volunteers that helped make it all possible.”
