Record setting Bainbridge High School Bearcats senior place kicker and punter Keenan Adams verbally committed this week to sign a national football letter of intent with the Colorado State University Rams next February.
Adams, who is also a record-setting turkey hunter, said the outdoors opportunites in and around the Colorodo State University campus in Fort Collins, Colo., are very good.
“Fort Collins is at the edge of Rocky Mountains and it is really beautiful,” he said. “I visited Colorodo State a couple of weeks ago and really liked head coach Steve Fairchild and his staff.”
Last season Adams, son of Roy and Maggie Adams, was selected first-team All-Region 1AAAA kicker and punter by the Region coaches and first team All-State punter by the Georgia Sportswriters and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
He was also named All-Area place kicker and punter by the Albany Herald. He had a season-long field goal of 52 yards and connected on three of four from 45 yards or further. He had a 39.8 yard average as a punter.
Bearcats head football coach Ed Pilcher said he couldn’t be happier for Adams.
“Keenan cerainly did a great job for us as a place kicker and a punter,” the Bearcats head coach said. “He does a great job on the field and in the classroom.”
Adams averaged 53 yards on 36 kickoffs and seven of his kickoffs were touchbacks. He had a long kickoff of 65 yards.
