Funeral services for Julia Taliaferro Jones, 70, of Bainbridge, will be held Wednesday, Aug. 4, in the chapel of Ivey Funeral Home with Dr. Danny Shepard officiating.

Interment will follow at Brinson Cemetery in Brinson.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the chapel.

Born Dec. 9, 1939, in Brinson, Ga., Mrs. Jones died on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Ga.

Mrs. Jones was a 1957 alumnus of Bainbridge High School. She was a homemaker and a member of the Brinson United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Harden Taliaferro.

Survivors include her sons, Floyd Marvin Jones Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., and Brian Jones of Combs, Ark.; four brothers, Earl Taliaferro of Atlanta, Kenneth Taliaferro of Snellville, Ga., Cherry Taliaferro of Bishop, Ga., and Jimmy Taliaferro of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sisters, Eleanor T. Lloyd of Columbia, S.C., and Myrle T. Culverson of Snellville, Ga., and eight grandchildren.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
