A funeral service for Mrs. Betty Bailey Floyd, 73, of Bainbridge, was held Monday, August 2, at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating. Interment followed at West Bainbridge Cemetery with Duane Floyd, Ashby Floyd, Kenny Roberts, Alex McMillan, Dalton McMillan, Mike Dicks, and Robbie Strickland serving as active pallbearers.

Born March 24, 1937 in Rome, Ga., Mrs. Floyd passed away Friday, July 30, 2010, in Thomasville, Ga.

Mrs. Floyd was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Floyd; her brothers, Clifford Bailey and Sammy Bailey; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Roberts and Austin Strickland.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, J. W. “Shorty” Floyd of Bainbridge; her sons, Gary Floyd and Mike Floyd of Bainbridge and Tim Floyd of Climax; her daughters, Debra F. Strickland, Ivey F. Stott, Lisa Moore Musgrove and Cheryl F. Roberts, all of Bainbridge; her brothers, Herschel Bailey of Bainbridge and Edward Bailey of Atlanta, Ga.; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
