Pvt. 1st Class Blake Murphy, who is stationed at Camp Lejeune, N.C., is scheduled to leave for a seven-month deployment to Afghanistan in July. Murphy graduated from Marine basic training on Paris Island, S.C. He is the son of Jeff and Melanie Murphy, and brother of Brandi Murphy and Sarah-Catherine Murphy, all of Bainbridge. Murphy is the grandson of Neil and Sarah Murphy of Donalsonville, Ga., and Pete and Cathy Maine of Georgetown, Ga.
