Steve Murr new Grace athletic director

Steve Murr, athletic director and middle and high school principal at Grace Christian School in Sanford, N.C. the past three years, has accepted the same positions at Grace Christian Academy in Bainbridge.
Joan Shiver, who served as Grace’s director for the past five years, will now focus on the roles of lower school principal and school counselor.
Murr will be principal of the middle school and high school and coach the Grace Cougars varsity basketball team in addition to his overall athletic director duties.
The new Grace athletic director graduated from Beth Haven Academy in Louisville, Ky., where he was a three-sport athlete, in 1992.
He played shooting guard on his high school basketball team, was quarterback on the football team and pitched for the baseball team. He went on to Tennessee Temple University, a Baptist university in Chattanooga, Tenn., where he earned his bachelor’s degree and played basketball.
Murr also earned a masters degree in education administration from Liberty University, a Baptist university in Lynchburg, Va.
He is married to the former Angela Lamb of Detroit, Mich., They have a 12-year-old daughter Emilee, an 8-year-old son Tommy and a 5-year-old daughter Lindsey.
